Back in the saddle-oh no, back on the Blog!!

Wow, two months and I now am a Bionic Woman!!!  March 26th I received a brand new Titanium knee and I feel like I have been in Physical Theropy every minute since.  But that's ok, I am now walking with out a walker and have tossed the cane aside!  Still being careful but we are back performing our music at Senior Residenial Homes and I am back to the world of Blogging. 

If you have missed me-let me know.  If no one misses me I am going to shut this blog site down.

Reach Out , Each Day- New Book published

My newest book, Reach Out, Each Day is now available on www.lulu.com/betty_overstreet.com . I have finally completed it after about 18 months and several years in the planning stages. It is a complilation of incidents that have happened after I prayed for God to enlarge my territory of ministry.
The first Small Group study I attended was led by Diane Tenty in Suisun, CA. The subject was "The Prayer of Jabez", the book that discusses how Jabez prayed to the Lord to enlarge his territory. Diane suggested that we tape the verses of his prayer on our bathroom mirror and read it each morning, with the enlargement of our ministry territory as our desire.

The next week, we could hardly wait to meet at Diane's home to share what had happened throughout the week. We had each been guided to help someone in need; strangers on the street, family, friends! It was amazing.

As the incidents continued to unfold in my life, I kept wanting to write them down to share, and now I have. I pray you will enjoy reading each story as much as I have enjoyed experiencing them.

Gospel Tour to Tennessee, Colorado, all points inbetween

Gary and I are planning a Gospel music tour this fall. We will be leaving the first week in September and returning to California the last week of Sept. We have gigs booked in Chattanooga and Helman Tennessee, Colorado Springs, Co and possibly Independance Mo. We will be adding more as time goes by.

We are contacting Senior communities (care homes) in those areas to perform during the week-Country Western music. We love entertaining for the residents who are no longer able to travel to see music concerts!

Take the time, make memories

Time is so short, as we watch our little ones grow. One day they are babies, next it seems they are leaving for college. Last summer Gary and I had a backyard BBQ for our family. Our kids, their kids and yes, even their kids kids (that means our great grands!). What a day that was....

As I sat watching the merriment, Ava, our 2 year old great granddaughter climbed up in my lap with a book that needed to be read!!

Ava's mom, Sarah, snapped this picture of us as she gazed lovingly up at me. It is priceless, and had I not taken the time to read, Sarah would have missed this kodak moment for us.

Take the time, take a walk, take a few minutes to share a special book while they are willing to give us a minute. Soon they will be so busy, it will be hard to slow them down long enough to spend time together. Treasure each moment and someday, in that long away future, they just might remember how Grandma held them and read a book to them.
